Class Descriptions

Gentle Flow/Chair Yoga: Gentle, slow, flowing poses. The gentle, repetitive movements are deeply nourishing, chairs are provided if needed. Recommended for anyone who seek a mellow yoga practice, esp. seniors/those with illnesses such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, arthritis/those with limited range of motion/those who want to deeply relax/those recovering from injury or surgery.

Power Yoga: Based on Astanga Yoga, power yoga is a unique combination of dynamic breathing and strong, flowing movement, which creates a high-heat, high-energy workout. Unlike any other yoga program, power yoga is a designed sequence of postures that flow into one another.

With your commitment, this class delivers changes and you will discover greater energy, vitality, and vigor. The main focus of this class is to bring about a transformation of the physical body. Through inspiration, perspiration and hard work, we relieve stress, sculpt muscles, develop flexible and supple bodies, and inspire a greater sense of calm. Great benefits for athletes (skiing, surfing, running, martial arts, cycling/spinning, and team sports).

Modification are given. Practitioners should be familiar with the Sun Salutation, know how to listen to their bodies and rest as needed and STAY OUT OF THE EGO. Familiarity with basic yoga postures is helpful, but all students are encouraged to work at their own pace/level. Focus is mainly fine tuning the poses and body alignments.

Kundalini Yoga: This all level class is often called the yoga of awareness, uses simple yogic techniques that can be enjoyed by everyone of all ages and physical conditions. It is very helpful for emotional balance, mental clarity, stress relief, and personal transformation.

It is designed to improve your well-being through an integrated body / mind exercise system. Each class strengthens your body, your nervous system, stimulates your immune system, and flushes out toxins. Weights are used in this class.

Adults & Teens Yoga: A non-competitive & fun class for teens 13 year old to adults. This class promotes your sense of well-being, improves your physical strength and flexibility, develops your focus and concentration, and teaches you stress management skills. It helps you to experience a new healthy lifestyle.

Hip Hop Teen/Adults Yoga: Hip hop yoga sure sounds like FUN! This is vinyasa flow yoga and blended with contemporary tunes from Hip Hop to Rock n' Roll to Reggae with a bit of Kirtan (devotional singing). Have fun combining breath, movement and uplifting music while getting a great work-out. All levels welcome.

Healthy Kids Yoga: Specially designed for kids 6-year-old to 13-year-old. This class promotes the children’s: a) confidence and self-esteem; b) physical strength and flexibility; c)inner strength and body awareness; d) relaxation and self-control; e) respect for others and love of oneself; f) concentration, focus and attention.

Mommies & Babies Yoga: All levels are welcome as this class is a restorative, yet strengthening, hatha yoga class for the new mom and baby. It offers moms an opportunity to integrate yoga and movement with their baby as well as meet other new moms in class. Class focuses on gentle strengthening exercises to tone and relax a mother's body after delivery and meditation to calm your mind. Moms and babies will stretch to increase abdominal and back strength; and Moms will also build stamina. The class also includes baby play and baby stretches. You may begin class as soon as you feel ready for exercise, though a common guide line is around 6 weeks postpartum.

TaiChi: Learn the short form Yang style Tai Chi from Sifu Don Walth, a qualified instructor that has a lineage back to the original founder. This course will teach you how to relax, get better balance, strengthen your core and improve your overall health. You will also get a bonus of learning the special Chi Gong breathing that is helpful in developing your inner power and strengthening your system to fight viruses. Tai Chi is an exercise that will benefit you for the rest of your life. So join us and have fun. (No class until Sept.)
