Villas Shanti Yoga Retreat
November 8-15, 2008
Transportation:
Almost all the major US airlines have direct flight from US to Cancun International Airport . November is considered low season for traveling. For example, American Airline’s round-trip fair from Des Moines to Cancun is currently quoted only $366 for November trip (considering up to $800 during holidays and high traveling season.) Please note you do need a valid US passport to travel to Mexico and re-enter. Puerto Morelos is about 20 minutes south of the Cancun airport by taxi with cost $30 -$50. Please let me know early of your arrival time and your flight number so that I can help you find others for taxi sharing.
The owners of Villas Shanti Jack and Jean Leow will help us get familiar with Villas Shanti upon arrival. Everything is all within steps - to get to your apartments, central patio, pool, studio and the hammock pavilion. Taxi fares from one end of town to the other range between $1 to $1.5 USD. Remember, this is a small fishing village. Everything is only a short walk away.
Classes Schedule:
- 7:30am to 9:30 (Daily except Tuesday) Power Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga & Prananyama
- 4:00pm to 6:00pm (Daily except Thursday) Yin Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Meditation)
- There will be book discussions (time to be determined) – You will be given the book as our gift.
(I have to keep the title a secret now!!!)
Meals Schedule:
- 10:30am Brunch (Except the trip day on Tuesday)
- 6:30pm Dinner daily at Villas Shanti (Except the trip day on Thursday)
- Arrival Dinner (Please arrive before 6:30 pm Saturday) and closing dinner on Friday will be all at Villas Shanti
Side trips:
There are many options for sightseeing or side trips at very affordable prices. For example, a two-hour snorkeling tour of the Palancar reef costs around $20 USD only. Several snorkel/dive shops are close by. The reef lies about 200 yards offshore making it such an easy swim. You can take Goyo Morgan’s 4-hour jungle tour for $35 USD. You can take a great day trip to the Mayan ruins of Tulum, Coba or Chichen Itza . The Villas Shanti owners will be very happy to arrange tour for us. Side tours are all optional.
The Beach:
The beach is right across the street, and very easy to access.
Retreat Payment Method:
$400 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your space now. We accept personal Checks, money orders or cashier’s checks.Remaining balance for the retreat is due September 15, 2008 . Fee is payable to Green Yoga House.
